The EAF 2nd Helper supports EAF operations and maintenance, including furnace deck upkeep, slag sampling, and overhead crane operation, along with general housekeeping to keep the Melt Shop running smoothly. Teammates must be willing to cross-train in other positions within the department and fill in as needed to support operational needs.Minimum Requirements:Willingness to work a flexible schedule and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.Ability to withstand working conditions with elevated temperatures.Ability to lift moderate to heavy weight (50 lbs.)Detailed Selection Criteria:SafetyAttention to Detail - Thorough in accomplishing tasks, no matter how small they may be, taking care to make sure that expectations are met, and being observant to changes in the environment.Judgment/Decision Making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Developing specific goals and plans for prioritizing, organizing, and accomplishing individual work and/or the work of the team.Coordination - Effective with planning, managing time and making adjustments relative to the team's activity in order to maintain efficiency in the process flow.Initiative – Independently and proactively seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.Problem Solving – Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Teamwork - Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.Accountability- Displays responsibility with work habits and has ability to hold others accountable for desired results.Technical Ability- Has the pertinent experience, skills and technical set to excel in this role.
