Sign-On Bonus: Available exclusively to candidates with an active LICSW or LMHC at the time of hire.

SSTAR's clinical team provides comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services in a safe and welcoming environment! The clinician provides individual, group, and family counseling to people affected by addiction and or/mental illness. The licensed clinician may also have opportunities to provide clinical supervision to other team members.

Clinician Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the position.
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations.
  • Maintain assigned caseload; Providing direct care to clients - including assessments of the new patients, individual counseling, discharge planning, treatment plans, daily progress notes, daily groups, group note completion and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments.
  • Responsible for each assigned clients' medical records.
  • Provide direct care to the clients. This care will include, but not limited to, individual counseling, group facilitation, lectures, orientation for new patients, discharge & aftercare planning, and case management of clients assigned.
  • Responsible for linking clients with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the client and with access to outpatient services when appropriate.
  • Attend all unit meetings and case conferences as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Responsible for continued education in the field of substance abuse and related courses.
  • Communicate with referring agencies and other entities on behalf of the client.
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of clients as defined by the client's rights.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director.

Clinician Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or a related discipline.
  • LICSW, LMHC, LADC1.
  • Massachusetts license in appropriate discipline.

Clinician Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance abuse and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
  • Diagnostic skills and case management ability
  • Promote and enhance one's knowledge about the symptoms of psychiatric illness and addiction
  • Interagency collaboration
  • Ability to facilitate a group/lecture
  • Ability to set limits and enforce rules
  • An understanding of boundaries and ethics
  • Intermediate computer skills

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $72,000-$78,000
